Product description:
The transition from the dying embers of the toic Victorian era to today's world can be traced through the pioneering life's work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Born in Glasgow, he trained as an architect and interior designer - as did many people. So why was he so different? Well, he introduced symbolism, balanced light with dark, and blended tradition and modernity. The giant achievements of Charles Rennie Mackintosh in both architecture and design now show him to be a man ahead of his time. Influenced by his work, the handmade Origins Clyde Dressing Table is available in two beautiful finishes and is decorated with handmade ceramic plaques in crackle glaze cream.

This is a piece of furniture that's fit to grace any bedroom, and would be ideal alongside other pieces of the Mackintosh range. We offer a waxed polished finish or a French style hand painted finish, the choice is yours.

The wax polish option is made using special ageing techniques to replicate an antique patina or natural finish. Inspired by natural patinas, which accrue over hundreds of years of daily use and give antique furniture its warmth and value, this option is then hand waxed for a more authentic and richer finish than lacquer typically offers. Mahogany and old wood feature a patina effect, whilst mellow brown offers the same original colour as old wood, without an antique effect distressed finish.

If you choose the painted option, paint is applied by hand before the ageing process begins. Once the paint is completely cured, the knots are exposed and corners are worn off. A woodworm effect gives this furniture unique, two hundred-year old charm, and each piece is then hand waxed. As the furniture ages further, knots will show through the paint adding character.

Shown in polished old wood and polished mahogany finish.

Please note: delivery time for the mahogany finish is the time stated above plus 2 weeks.
