Most ottoman beds don't sag. They feature a solid base or sprung slats – if they feature slats, count the number of slats in your bed's frame and check how closely they've been arranged. Where possible, we recommend opening your chosen bed to take a closer look.
This comes down to personal preference, the amount of space in your bedroom and the height of your ceiling. Side-opening ottomans open from the left or right of the bedframe to be accessed from the bottom and opposite sides. And end-opening beds can be accessed from the ottoman's left, right or bottom sides.
Most ottoman bases feature a non-slip top to hold your mattress in place. While some side-opening beds feature a slightly higher frame at one side, which secures the mattress.
Some ottomans can be opened on either side, just fit the opening fixture to your chosen side. Did you know? Some of our side-opening beds can open on both sides.
