A Guide to Bedside Tables

A bedside table is a necessity for every bedroom. They are an ideal piece of furniture to place an alarm clock, lamp and telephone. There are many styles, colour and materials to choose from and the following should be considered before your purchase:

What are you using the bedside table for?

If you are looking for a bedside table just to place simple items such as an alarm clock and mobile phone then a small bedside table without drawers will be ideal.

If you plan on using your bedside table to hideaway cosmetics and TV remotes then a larger table with drawers and shelves would be ideal. Plus with the generous surface it will be prefect to place a lamp, telephone and a picture frame.

Does it match your décor?

Whether you are looking to decorate your bedroom or have just finished decorating, you should think about what style will suit. If you are looking for a more traditional looking bedroom then our collection of wooden bedside tables would be ideal. Or if you are swaying more towards a modern décor then our range of high gloss bedside tables or white bedside tables would be perfect for you.

Will it fit?

One of the first things you should consider is the space you have available to place bedside table. Measure the available space at the side of your bed and the area surrounding. If you plan on purchasing a bedside table with drawers you may not anticipate how far the drawers will extend, this could cause problems when trying to fully extend the drawers.

If you opt for a circular bedside table then be aware that these are sometimes much larger than square tables so bear in mind the width and height, and whether or not there will be enough height to place your desired accessories such as a lamp.

If you have a large bedroom with plenty of available space, then a wide bedside table would help to fill up the room and make it cosier.

The majority of our bedside tables arrive flat packed, accompanied with easy to follow step by step instructions to assemble each part of the product one by one.

  • Assemble with a blanket or sheet on the floor to protect your new piece of furniture from scratches, as well as your floor.
  • Assemble as close to intended final room position, as this is a large, heavy product to manoeuvre. Keep your hardware in a bowl to prevent losing any!
  • Using power tools is strongly not advised, as this could cause some damage and will also invalidate the warranty.
